Thank you for this poem, Andy. We can never unsee and unhear over two years of images and videos of destruction and horror. We must keep writing about it, like you have here.
“The jagged edges of sound” - what great phrasing. I’ve been listening a lot to the pianist and composer Tim Allhoff who has a beautiful album called ‘Silence Is Something You Can Actually Hear.’ I love it when the arts I care about most, like poetry and music, begin to link up and illuminate one another.
I too love it when different forms of expression are in dialogue with each other. I’m always looking for new music to experience, I’ll check out Allhoff’s album
Beautiful Andy! (Obviously I love it with that great title :D)
Thanks, Alex! I had meant to credit you with the title inspiration which is really the gift that keeps on giving. Updated now!
Oh no worries, I feel like it’s public domain at this point but I appreciate that!!
This poem, the frogs, the body breaking open…..ohhh this one landed 💛💛💛
I'm glad it hit home for you, Holly.

Eviscerating writing, Andy. Well wielded words, my friend.
thank you, Marc. I'm trying to hold some hope for a day when poems like this will not be necessary, or at least not about Gaza
