Just can't wait
One day you realize that you just can't wait around any longer you can't wait for the right place, for the right time. you realize nothing will change unless you change. As my head fills with these thoughts, I look up and see those done-being-patient seeds— kernels of wheat the combine missed or couldn't be bothered with overlapping souls, waiting like sharks teeth to spring to life. And when they couldn’t wait any longer, they finally did. Sending out shoots and roots right there, where they huddled in a cluster high in the air. letting their hopes spiral in the sun, trusting that hope itself might push them from their cocoon-turned-coffin, onto the waiting soil, where even if a bird comes or a raindrop doesn’t, and they don't make it, they won’t die wondering if they lived. __drafted July 8 2025
I will be quite busy for the next few weeks so I cannot promise to send a new poem each week through the rest of July, but I will definitely return to my regular posting schedule in August. Thank you as always for reading and engaging with my poetry. It means the world to me.

I was just saying a mundane version of this while washing breakfast dishes snd looking out the window! Thanks for the better words!
"they won’t die wondering if they lived." Wow! What a powerful poem, Andy.
